Tent Sale at the Brick

Bismillah...

We spent 4 hours at The Brick today - this is after spending 2 hours at Leon's, an hour at Ashley's Furniture, half an hour at Urban Barn, and a total of an hour browsing other shops. It was very tiring, but rewarding.

Anyways, the Brick is having a tent sale. 2 weeks ago baba and I went and we got a certificate to go back on the 10th (?). Supposedly, we would get a deal...well, baba ended working late that day so we couldn't go, but he also didn't really seem very interested because he was annoyed...more on that later.

We were actually at the Deerfoot location (which is where the Leons & other stores are), but we never went in. Baba didn't even want to go there. When we got home , we were still on a high and I knew it would be easy to get him to go to the one that's closer to us - MacCleod Trail by 90th avenue, so we packed up the kids and went up there. I think baba promised the kids they would get food, which we got at Ashley's Furniture earlier in the day, but by the time we got there the parking lot was actually deserted-mostly.

We bought:
Iman's bedroom set (dresser, night-table, and mirror)
Amira's set (same)
computer desk
dining room set
a bench for the kids

They have some kind of promotion going on where if you buy "selected" dining room sets you can get a free TV. We wanted to buy a dining room set that was so gorgeous, but it was one of the red tag items. Our number 2 on the dining set list was good anyway, so it didn't make a difference to us. All in all, the dining room set that we bought came with a FREE 22 inch TV, which is totally cool. Baba was happy of course- what man wouldn't want a FREE TV.

The thing I liked about this experience was that no one bothered us. When we were ready to ask questions there were  lot of people on hand to ask and they were very good, but had we walked in there and have the same annoyance that we did the second time, we would not have bought anything.

In fact, I had to beg baba to go, because he really didn't want to go through that annoying guy again.
Unfortunately, because we need our stuff delivered in June, we could not buy certain items that were on sale (marked red). Amira was excited and wanted to pick out her bunk-bed but the one she wanted was indeed a red tag item *sigh*. Regardless, we found what we were looking for.
We might go back for our mattresses, but right now we are doing some comparative shopping.
